Mate as a geriatric life long Bach lover( first piano tune Sister Ignatious taught me as an 8 yo in 1950s was his minuet in G/Lover’s Concerto)/would be double/bass player, I love your rendition, of which I too am sure JSB would be proud. Are my ageing eyes deceiving me but, with your 4 string beast, I can’t follow your hitting the bottom C,D notes, as written; ie no 5 string bottom B and can’t match the top D pitch if tuned to BEAD rather than normal EADG? Am determined to learn it regardless. Been to Leipzig; Eisenach next year. Regards Perry

Fantastic playing bro. Im late to the party in appreciation but better late than never. Would love to know if you were taught to play like that or teach yourself. Totally unique bud. If i had to guess, id say you played banjo as a kid and incorporated the hammer claw into the bass. Fun to watch.

JS would be proud. The electric bass is tuned exactly the same as a concert bass of course. At one point you can see he is doing the same exactly fingering as the bassist are bowing in the orchestra.

Great bass here, agree with other posters, I woulda loved to hear this more in the album mix. I hope you find your way back to a band, maybe one that lets you go a bit crazy and kick up that bass. I know you're off experimenting, yet would really love to hear you back in metal someday.

Just recently got into this band and as a bass player was upset he is no longer in UTA. Such a great player...

Nikko you rock. Are you tuned CGDA? Is that a short scale 30” ? What are your string gauges? I tried tuning my 26 “ to CGDA but the intonation and tuning stability if off :( I really want to play a bass in CGDA but it needs to be short I think. Any suggestions. I have looked all over bass talk and looked for tenor electric basses but I can’t find a solution I like yet.
